Your Arrival at the K Bar L

Guests begin their adventure at the K Bar L Ranch by arriving at the designated boat ramp at 10:30 AM on your designated day during the summer months.

Driving Directions to the K Bar L Ranch

From the West:

1. Travel past Missoula, MT.
2. Turn off at Bonner onto Highway 200.
3. Pass through Lincoln and continue until you reach Bowman’s Corner.
4. Turn onto Highway 287 toward Augusta.

From the East:

1. Travel to Great Falls, MT.
2. Head north on I-15 and take the Vaughn exit (290).
3. Continue on Highway 200 through Fort Shaw and Simms.
4. After Simms, turn onto Highway 21 toward Augusta.

Important Final Directions (Do Not Use GPS Navigation)

Upon arrival in Augusta, DO NOT USE any navigation system—it will misdirect you. Instead, follow these steps:

1. At the four-way stop signs in town, turn toward Gibson Reservoir/Willow Creek.
2. Pass the Forest Service building, cemetery, and dump site.
3. When you reach a gravel road, continue west (DO NOT take Benchmark Road).
4. Drive five miles until you see multiple signs, including ours—turn right and continue for about 25 miles.
5. Once you enter Lewis and Clark National Forest, you’ll hit a paved road.
6. Continue toward Gibson Dam, then turn right across the concrete bridge.
7. Summer Guests: Continue over the hill to the boat landing or horse tie-up area (about ½ mile before the landing), depending on prior arrangements.
8. Hunting Guests: Meet at Sam’s Place, the first left after the bridge.

Estimated Drive Time: Allow approximately 45 minutes from Augusta to Gibson Reservoir.
